I just chose a Samsung s4 mini because, in addition to NFC which I want to transfer NFC camera pics into phone for email, it has an SD slot, which makes it easy to transfer all the phone pics to the computer in one batch as my broken Droid razr did. Droid Mini has NFC, but no SD slot. It seems to have a better low light camera.
